Answer: Salmon, Rock Cod, Ling Cod, Halibut, Shark, Red Snapper, Steelhead, Sturgeon and more.

Answer: It depends on whether or not you want to have a fishing trip chartered or rent a boat. Charter services will take care of all the work when fishing but if you rent a boat yourself then experience on the ocean is a must.

Answer: Yes, you can pick one up at Ace Hardware or Kings Marine. Both located in downtown Friday Harbor. Or you can purchase one online at the Washington Dept of Fish & Wildlife.

Question: Where can I go fresh water fishing on San Juan Island?

Answer:

Egg Lake: Located on the northeast end of San Juan Island. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass and rainbow trout, with good rainbow fishing in April and May.

Sportsman's Lake: A 66 acre lake located 3 miles northwest of Friday Harbor on Roche Harbor Road.

San Juan Lake Resorts: Lakedale Resort Located off Roche Harbor Road about four miles out of Friday Harbor. They offer camping, fishing, cabin rentals, swimming, and more.
