San Juan Island's Mt. Young

Located approximately 10 miles from Friday Harbor Mount Young easily makes our top 10 viewpoints in the San Juan Islands list. Hike up to the 650 foot summit of Mount Young and take in panoramic views of the Olympic Peninsula, Canadian Gulf Islands, Henry Island, Pearl Island, Spieden Island and Garrison Bay.

The hikers reward is a sweeping eastern view of the islands, including Henry, Pearl and Spieden Islands. Also visible to the southeast are the Olympics, one of the best views of that range from the San Juans.

To reach the trailhead start at the British Camp parking lot and follow the signs. The trail also connects with a greater network of trails that connect to Roche Harbor and Reuben Tart County Park. Please visit the San Juan Island Trails website for detailed trail maps.
